Day 1: Arrival Aswan - Aswan Sightseeing & Sailing

Upon your arrival in Aswan, a Pharaohn Tours representative will warmly welcome you at your designated location, whether it be the Aswan International Airport, railway station, or your hotel, ensuring a smooth commencement to your exploration. Your day will begin with an enchanting excursion to the Temple of Philae, a magnificent Greco-Roman sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis, now situated on Agilika Island. Access to this significant temple is via a brief and picturesque motorboat journey. This remarkable temple complex was expertly moved to its present location as a preservation effort following the construction of the High Dam.

Subsequently, your exploration will continue with a visit to the intriguing Unfinished Obelisk. This colossal, partially carved monolith offers a compelling glimpse into the ambitious monumental projects and advanced stoneworking techniques of ancient Egypt. Likely commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, the obelisk reveals the intricate process of its creation and the challenges encountered by ancient artisans. The discovery of flaws in the granite led to its abandonment, providing a unique opportunity to observe firsthand the methods employed to extract and shape these impressive structures directly from the bedrock. This site serves as an open-air museum, highlighting the remarkable engineering and artistic skills of this ancient civilization.
